Nursery Rhymes and songs are a great way to develop your child's speaking and listening skills and to give them an awareness of rhyme and rhythm. They also extend their vocabulary as they will come across words they haven't heard before. Number rhymes develop their ability to say number names in order, both forwards and backwards, give them opportunities to count sets of objects accurately and help them to understand what happens when we add more or take some away.
